Afterschool Programs for Grades 6-8
In concert with the calendar for the Pittsburgh Public Schools, we operate REACH ACADEMY, an afterschool program for 50 students in grades 6-8. It operates Monday through Friday, from 3:30 to 6:00 pm. Each day, students receive a healthy snack, homework help, and academic assistance under the guidance of our staff members and volunteer tutors. Reach Academy students choose electives from among music, ecology, and computers. Students participate in “club,” a weekly event which includes games and large-group worship. Occasionally, our staff members organize service projects in which participants make differences in the lives of other people.
In all our afterschool programs, our staff members model healthy relationships with one another and with students, so that young people can learn to treat each other with respect. Through Bible studies and life application discussions, students grow in their knowledge and love of God, and how they can follow Christ in their daily activities. Our program coordinators include certified educators, and our teachers are trained, caring adults.

Summer Camp for Grades 6-8
For eight weeks during during the summer months, we operate REACH CAMP for students entering grades 6-8. It extends the spirit of our afterschool program into the summer season, adding recreational activities, breakfast and lunch, age-specific experiential education activities, a week of "sleepaway" camp on the shores of Lake Michigan, and additional field trips. A low staff-to-student ratio allows for highly relational activities. It runs Monday through Friday, from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm, serving 80 students.
